When Dana and Jim Maloney learned that their middle son and his wife were about to deliver their first granddaughter into the world in 2017, they decided to move from North Carolina to the Eastern Shore of Alabama to be a part of her life. (They now have two beautiful granddaughters!) Their love for adventure, travel, and meeting new friends plus their experience in Charlotte as Airbnb super hosts inspired them to visit Fairhope and shop for resort property for family vacation rentals.

They instantly fell in love with this beautiful historic property overlooking Mobile Bay that originally opened in 1948 as the Sunset Beach Hotel. In the mid-1950s it became the Eastern Shore Apartments and Cottages and operated as such for almost 30 years. In 1987, it was transformed into Away at the Bay Bed and Breakfast by Dr. and Ms. Gravlee. In 2018, Dana fulfilled one of her lifelong dreams, to own and operate a bed and breakfast. She and Jim purchased the property, and began redecorating and landscaping every inch of the building and grounds,

Jubilee Suites provides an all-suites experience in a luxurious boutique bed and breakfast. Seven of their spacious family-size suites feature a fully furnished kitchen, dining and living areas, 1 or 2 private bedrooms and bathrooms, washer/dryer, free WIFI, and a smart TV in each bedroom and living room for a home-away-from-home experience, only better! Five of their luxury suites offer west-facing bay view balconies or a patio, ideal for sunset viewing. Two suites are pet friendly. Each suite is furnished with luxury amenities and special touches that delight the senses. The quiet, peaceful setting makes Jubilee Suites an ideal place to relax and renew while vacationing with family or friends.

Hungry? Dana loves to feed people and Jubilee Suites includes a made-to-order full breakfast for each guest every morning in their bright and beautiful Bayview great room. Fairhope is known for great restaurants but if guests would rather stay in, most suites include fully furnished kitchens. The B&B also has grills and charcoal for guests' use. Because Dana and Jim also live on-site, they can direct guests to some great grocery stores within a few minutes, or for larger groups will help coordinate caterers.

Guests love the fact that the variety of indoor and outdoor spaces at Jubilee Suites can be perfectly configured for whatever their celebration calls for. The large grassy backyard bluff overlooking the Bay can accommodate up to about 30 guests for an intimate event such as a wedding or a retreat. In case of rain, the whole party can move indoors into the Bayview great room which can be transformed into any number of seated or standing configurations for a wedding reception, wellness event, corporate meeting, or a family reunion. The pretty New Orleans-style courtyard and beach area all present endless possibilities for gorgeous outdoor events.

Takeover groups can rent the entire B & B and sleep up to 35 people in nicely appointed private suites. Add parking for 22+ cars, a sunset-viewing gazebo, and firepit seating, and we think you'll agree that Jubilee Suites has one of the most beautiful and versatile spaces to host your intimate event in the area.
