Scenic 98 Coastal Summer Splash Wine Dinner Series!

With two years of publications and plenty of good meals under our belts, we are thrilled to announce the exclusive launch of Scenic 98 Coastal’s 1st Annual Summer Splash Wine Dinner Series. Our first event, a truly unique experience, will be held in Mobile at Crown Hall on Thursday, May 30. 

We are excited to partner with Bay Gourmet Catering and Events and Absintheminded Enterprises, a wine distributor, for an entertaining evening that will be a delicious and fun experience. Also joining us will be David Gibson, founder of Judge Roy Beans Spirits, and Allie Nielsen of Vine + Branch, creators of fine faux flowers and other chic wares.

Be prepared to be curious! We are calling this first edition South Meets South! It will feature specially curated fine wines from South Africa with Southern-inspired cuisine with roots in South African flavors that resonate in Southern cooking. Expect a history lesson throughout the evening (the good kind!). We promise familiar dishes you will love, expertly prepared, and not too far afield. 

On hand will be Bay Gourmet founder Sarah Clark and Chef Jayme Richburg, who will tell us how each dish was created to accentuate the selection of featured wines. Suzaan Laing, of South to South Wine Importer in New Orleans, will join us along with Seth Hargett, an experienced chef and wine expert in his own right. Suzaan is a native South African and will delight us with her knowledge and accent.

The evening will have lots of good surprises and promises to be an experience you will relish well into the evening! Specialty cocktails, a creative menu including Admiral Shellfish oysters, fine wines, and distinctive table settings… What's not to like? We aim to make this a memorable evening of great food and wine with friends.
