While my friends and I had attended concerts at The Wharf  Amphitheater before, with 3 nights of shows over Memorial Day weekend on the horizon, this time we opted for the ease of staying on-site and booked a condo overlooking the marina at The Wharf in Orange Beach, Alabama.  I’m glad we did. Our unit was great, felt fairly new and clean, and had a great view of the sunset and the boats coming in and out of the marina.

There was plenty on-site to keep us busy during the day.  We had a great lunch at Villagio Grille, and drinks before and after the shows at YoHo Rum & Tacos and Boat Bar where they had an outdoor bar with local bands playing all weekend.  The pool was a bit of a hike, but they offered a shuttle to and from, and we listened to soundcheck while floating in the lazy river.  It was a good way to get pumped up for the concerts on a hot day.

The Wharf has pretty much everything and made our long weekend easy. With lots of shops and entertainment up and down the Main Street, we had plenty to keep us busy. There is even a multiplex movie theater and a Ferris wheel. Bars stayed open late, you could sing Karaoke or go Axe Throwing into the wee hours if you so desired.  But by far the best aspect was the 5-minute walk back to our condo balcony each night after the shows ended.  Can’t beat that!

The Wharf plays host to big-time performers throughout the year. Check out Stay at the Wharf for your next concert vacation.
